Setsubun is almost here! What is it? According to Wikipedia, it is a holiday to drive off the previous year's bad luck and to ward off bad fortune and/or evil spirits of the new year.
What do you do for this holiday? Do you still celebrate if you don't have children? How do you celebrate it? When do you stop celebrating it? I've heard there are rather large festivals in Japan, where people dress up at a demon and scare children. Have you ever seen one of these festivals? Where does it take place?
I don't about you, but I'm looking forward to eating a 恵方巻 and getting beans thrown at me. I'm sure my children will enjoy pelting me with beans. Whatever you decide to do for this holiday, I hope you have a good Setsubun!
